The Lion Theory Recovery Model Workshops brings together the lived in experience and the academic field of childhood trauma recovery science. Our workshops use Sensory Therapy, CBT, DBT, Resilience Therapy and are focused around the; Thoughts, Emotions, Behaviours and Physiological Responses to cognitively rewire the survival mindset of the adult. Allowing the impact of the trauma to be reduced and recovery to be possible.

The Lion Theory Recovery Model Workshop: ​is designed for any adult that has suffered from childhood trauma. The work shop is a free online live workshop. The lion theory recovery model is a pioneering and ground breaking model that has been used in the community for many years and has had outstanding success. For the first time ever the recovery model will be available online without the requirement of risk assessment or referral.​ The Lion Theory workshop contains 4 sessions over 4 weeks. Each session is 60 mins in total.

Week One: Thoughts:
Description; Reducing the effects of negative, intrusive and racing thoughts.
Tool used; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)​.
What is CBT; Cognitive behavioural therapy is widely used form of psychotherapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviours. It is based on the premise that our thoughts, emotions, and actions are interconnected, and that altering the negative thoughts can lead to changes in feelings and behaviours.

Week Two: Emotions:
Description; Creating positive emotional regulation pathways.
Tool used; Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).
What is DBT; Dialectical behavioural therapy, a type of psychotherapy designed to help people mange intense emotions and improve coping skills.

Week Three: Behaviours:
Description; Exploring and understanding the negative behaviour produced by childhood trauma.
Tool used; Resilience Therapy (RT).
What is RT; Resilience therapy is designed to enhance an individuals ability to recover from adversity, trauma or stress while maintaining or quicky regaining psychological well being.

Week Four: Physiological Responses:
Description; Acute Stress Pathways: Learning to reduce and control the responses produced by the body.
Tool used; Sensory Therapy (ST).
What is ST; Sensory therapy works on the senses, to help individuals regulate their emotions and their body's stress responses in a crisis. ​

​Anger Reduction Workshop:
Description; The workshop is designed to reduce uncontrollable anger by working on the impulsive thoughts and actions.
​
Self Harm Reduction Workshop:
Description; The workshop is designed for anyone that struggles with self harming. The workshop is 90 mins long and looks at coping skills and regulation of emotions and thoughts.
