In my research work; i looked at John Bowlby work on attachment theory. I was amazed at this amazing mans work behind his attachment theory.
But as any human being, fault can be found in any theory (every behaviourist dread, we like to be prefect !!!)
In the attachment theory when Bowlby states children with no attachment or low attachment will have low problem solving abilities.
He did not take in to account the abused child's mind, due to never walking in the shoes of a child who has suffered early trauma.
He failed to see that children who go through trauma at a young age are remarkable good at problem solving !!
Having to find solution every day from a young age ie what will i eat, am i safe, what is my care givers mood, how can i counteract it.
Some of the most amazing minds in the world come from a childhood full of pain, their problem solving abilities enhanced, and their solution based thought process heighted from a young age !!
